Speaker Abbas Tajudeen Distributes 850 Motorcycles to Teachers, Commissions Key Projects Across Zaria

Zaria, Kaduna State – In a bold move to improve the welfare of educators and boost rural development, the Speaker of Nigeria’s House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen PhD, GCON, Iyan Zazzau, has distributed 850 motorcycles to teachers across both primary and secondary schools within his constituency.
The distribution ceremony, which took place at the F.U.E. School field in Zaria on Saturday, also featured the official flag-off of fertilizer distribution to local farmers.
In addition to teacher support, Zone 1 local governments each received 50 motorcycles for use by their Executive Council (Exco) members.
Kaduna State Governor Commends Speaker’s Efforts
Speaking at the event, Governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Uba Sani, applauded the Speaker's initiatives and revealed that all 23 local government areas in the state have been captured in the national budget through the Speaker’s efforts.
> “This is not just a symbolic gesture. It reflects deep commitment to equitable development. Speaker Abbas Tajudeen has ensured no local government in Kaduna is left behind,” the governor stated.
Major Projects Commissioned in Zaria
During his visit, the Speaker also commissioned a series of infrastructure and community development projects, further cementing his impact on the region. These include:
Malam Musa Hall – a modern conference hall inside the Zazzau Emirate Palace.
Road project at Kofar Gayan, Zaria.
Multipurpose hall at the Zaria Local Government Secretariat.
New building for the Police Headquarters at Zaria City Division, including a state-of-the-art storey building.
Health facility upgrades at Madarkaci Hospital.
Kaduna State Vigilante Service office (KDSVS) at Yan Dusa, Zaria.
Kofar Doka to Bakin Agwaro road.
Bakin Agwaro to Barewa Junction road.
Gaskiya to Albany road.
Each project aligns with Speaker Abbas’s broader goal of strengthening grassroots infrastructure and improving access to essential services.
Public Reaction and Prayers for the Speaker
Residents, traditional leaders, and community stakeholders praised the Speaker’s efforts, describing them as “a lifeline” to underserved communities.
In a show of gratitude, prayers were offered for the Speaker's continued success:
> “May God continue to guide and protect our beloved Speaker. May he be granted good health and the ability to bring more progress to Zaria, Kaduna, and Nigeria at large,” a community elder prayed.
