Wife Of Speaker Abbas Trains 400 Women On Digital Marketing, Entrepreneurship In Zaria

The National Directorate of Employment in partnership with Fatima Tajuddeen Abbas Foundation have trained 400 Women in Zaria on various skills acquisition, entrepreneurship and digital economy to enhance their livelihood and improve economic status.

The women who were mostly married, widows and divorced were equipped with skills on Cosmetology, perfume, cream and fresheners making while training them on digital marketing to expose them to global economic trend.

The training was held at Barewa College, Zaria, is aimed to promote self reliance and reduce over dependency by women.

Speaking at the event, Hajiya Fatima Tajuddeen, wife of the Speaker, House of Representatives emphasized the need of empowering women with knowledge, skills and resources to enable them  contribute meaningfully to the society,

According to her, the training was aimed at providing women with digital skills on financial discipline and management as.well as techniques of how to grow small capital into a sustainable source of income that can support their children and families without falling into severe hardship. 

“Today, we are in Zaria to support 400 women who have been trained on various skills and provide cash grant to them as start up capital to encourage their business activities.” She said.

Also speaking, Hajiya Imaan Suleiman-Ibrahim, Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development said the wife of the Speaker’s initiative aligned with the Social Impact Intervention Programmes of the Ministry under President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

She said the federal government has placed women at the heart of national development, stressing that “empowering women with practical skills, entrepreneurial support, and digital literacy is not just an economic investment, but also a social transformation strategy.” She said.

The Minister stressed that the training was significant because it highlights the outstanding work of the spouses of leaders, who are leading change at the grassroots and advancing causes that are vital to national development.

While applauding Fatima Tajudeen Abbas for the initiative, announced personal pledge of Two Million Naira (₦2,000,000) to support the noble effort, as well as starter packs for the best graduating student in each category of the training.
