Media Are Good Friends Of ABU, Ptomise Of Much Stronger Relationship -- VC

The Vice Chancellor Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, Professor Adamu Ahmed, has said media are good friends of the University and promised to build much stronger the relationship that has been there before.
He stated this when executive members of the Nigerian Union of Journalists Zaria Unit paid him a courtesy visit in his office on Tuesday.
Professor Ahmed said, ABU and Journalists are partners of progress and it will collaborate with the media particularly in the area of training and other aspect of developments.
He said, the University's door are open to Journalists for suggestions knowing fully that the media are full friends of the University as you covered the institution positively.
According to the Vice Chancellor no administration will do less than what has been the relationship that has been there.
He said ABU's Global ranking has improved as they are the best Public University in Nigeria and also in Africa ABU is ranked among the best 20 out of thousands of University.
Prof. Ahmed said the University won JAMB best award which was introduced to encouraged national spread in the admission of candidates and promote internationalization of tertiary institutions.
According to him, the award was essentially to bring about national unity through institutions admitting candidates from all states of the federation, as well as create healthy competitions among the tertiary institutions.
The Vice Chancellor said,the JAMB award is to bring about transparency in the admission process across the nation, and bridge the gap in gender inequality by encouraging the female gender to aspire for tertiary education.
Earlier in his remarks, the Chairman NUJ Zaria Unit Comrade Sagir Muhammad Awwal said the visit is to formerly congratulates him for his emergence as the 13th Vice Chancellor of the prestigious University .
Comrade Awwal said, the Journalists are part and parcels of ABU and they will continue with working towards promoting the good image of the University.
The Chairman used the visit to request for partnering and collaboration particularly in the area of training.
