The Governor of Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed, has confirmed that he is fully prepared to work alongside the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate in the 2023 election, Mr. Peter Obi, to address the critical challenges facing the country.

Peter Obi, who visited Bauchi on Thursday, met with Governor Bala Mohammed to discuss potential solutions to Nigeria’s ongoing problems. The two leaders held talks aimed at finding effective ways to lift the nation from its current hardships.

In his address, Peter Obi emphasized the urgent need for unity among Nigerian politicians, stating that without collective effort, the country would continue to struggle with its myriad issues. He stressed that resolving Nigeria's economic collapse should be a primary focus for any government, and that the country’s political leaders must come together to find lasting solutions.

“We cannot continue to face these challenges alone. Politicians must come together for the common good of the country," Obi remarked, adding that poverty alleviation should be the first issue tackled before addressing other pressing concerns.

Governor Bala Mohammed, in his response, expressed agreement with Obi’s call for political unity. He affirmed his willingness to collaborate with the former Anambra State governor, describing him as a key opposition figure in the nation. “Regardless of what has happened in the past, I am ready to work with Peter Obi. It’s time we set aside differences for the greater good of Nigeria,” he declared.

Governor Bala Mohammed further stressed that the focus should now be on finding practical solutions to the country’s problems, without allowing political affiliations to interfere with the national interest. He made it clear that the objective is not about political party gains but the well-being of the entire nation.

Peter Obi’s delegation also included the former Minister of Finance, Mrs. Nenadi Usman, who visited the Emir of Bauchi, Rilwanu Sulaiman Adamu, following the meeting with the governor.
