Kaduna NAWOJ Rejoices With Newly Elected NUJ President and Deputy
The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists NAWOJ, Kaduna state chapter has fecilitate with Alhaji Alhassan Yahya Abdullahi, as the new elected President of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ and the first ever female Deputy National President, Dr Abimbola Oyetunde to pilot the affairs of NUJ.
This is contained in a statement signed by the NAWOJ State Chairperson, Fatima Aliyu and Secretary Maureen Sheyin and issued to newsmen in Kaduna.
According to the statement, the peaceful and overwhelming support delegates gave in voting the president into office is a clear indication that there is total confidence reposed in his ability to rejuvenate Nigeria journalists to greater heights.
It explains that the association expresses confidence that under the leadership of Alhassan Yahya Abdullahi and Dr. Abimbola Oyetunde, the NUJ will continue to champion and uphold professional ethics, and advocate for the welfare of journalists across the country.
While praying for successful tenure for the new leadership, the women Journalists express optimism that the tenure will witness great things that will come the way of journalists in the country.
