HM MATAWALLE HONOURS SPECIAL INVITATION FROM THE MINISTER OF DEFENCE INDUSTRY, REPUBLIC OF AZERBAIJAN

The Honourable Minister of Defence Industry of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Vugar Mustafayev, extended a special invitation to his Nigerian counterpart, the Honourable Minister of State for Defence, Federal Republic of Nigeria, Dr. Bello Muhammad Matawalle, MON, for an official visit to the Republic of Azerbaijan as part of ongoing efforts to deepen bilateral defence cooperation, with a focus on defence production, and military technology transfer.

During his engagements in Azerbaijan, Minister Matawalle on Thursday 17 July 2025 held a meeting with the leadership of Improtex Industries, hosted by its President, Mr. Fizuli Alakbarov in Baku the Capital City of Azerbaijan. HM Matawalle toured through the company’s advanced production lines where he conducted an operational inspection of state-of-the-art military equipment. Key assets reviewed included Mine Sweepers and Mine Clearance Systems, Multi-Role Armoured Personnel Carriers (MRAPs) in combat, ambulance, as well as specialized Firefighting Vehicles for military and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs).

Improtex Industries established in 1991 has emerged as a key global player in manufacturing advanced military equipments, tactical vehicles, and battlefield support platforms.
