Kaduna State Govt To Rehabilitate Dams To Boost Irrigation Farming --Dabo

Kaduna state commissioner for agriculture Hon. Murtala Dabo hashinted that Governor Uba Sani led administration will rehabilitate all dams in the state to improved the socioeconomic development to the people .
He stated this during his visit to Galma irrigation site in Zaria in continuation of his visit to irrigation sites in the state.
Hon. Dabo said, Governor Uba Sani has passion of encouraging farmers not to depend on raining season farming alone but to adopt dry season farming to boost production.
He said the state government has budgeted about 12% from this year’s budget to agriculture to meet food security programs standard.
While assuring Farmers that the state government will soon commence distribution of farm implement to motivate the farmers on irrigation farming.
The Commissioner expressed satisfaction with the level of commitment and hardworking of All farmers Association of Nigeria AFAN and other relevant stockholders in supporting food security programs.
During the visit a Certificate of Excellence was presented to the Commissioner by the Chairman All Farmers Association AFAN Kaduna State Chapter Alhaji Nuhu Aminu for recognizing his vision on agricultural development in the state.
In an interview the Chairman Galma Irrigation Cooperative Association Alhaji Shehu Lawal Dalhatu stressed the need for Kaduna state government to provide them with agricultural imputs to support them in boosting irrigation farming across the state.
