Nigerian Institution of Civil Engineers has sensitized people against building collapse and cracking in Katsina State.

The sensitization campaign which titled "Reinforced Concrete Building Design: Steps To Modelling, Analysis and Design Using Software" held in the secretariat of COREN and attracted many engineers.

During the campaign, Pioneer chairman of COREN Engineer Ibrahim Abubakar said the maiden campaign is to educate everybody on the issues behind building collapse and cracking.

He said the campaign compromised civil engineers, bricklayers, labourers,  contractors, among others.

Engineer Ibrahim Abubakar commended government for giving them cooperation.

Also speaking, the Secretary of Building Collapse Committee Dr. Nur Usman said, they meet with relevant ministries, agencies and companies to ensure standardization of buildings and its materials.

Earlier, technical sessions was held on how to overcome the situation through questions and answers, and exchanging experiences.
